With our Eco Action Noticeboard, Sunday notices, magazine articles and posts on Tranent Church Facebook we look to share ongoing activities

We help a Primary School Group with litter-picking each month and look to set up class visits to the Tranent Community Garden

d)     RECYCLING

We are collecting 4 items in the church which can't be put in roadside collection

     1)     MILK BOTTLE TOPS (a special use for these)

     2)     OLD PENS

     3)     CRISP PACKETS FOR BLANKET PROJECT

     4)     OLD MATERIAL TO BE MADE INTO SHOPPING BAGS

We have also produced a recycling leaflet with lots of good advice

e)     FAIRTRADE

We plan to restart a monthly Fairtrade Stall for the last Sunday of each month

f)     COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

It has been important to link up with other community groups including

TRANENT WOMBLES – champion for litter-picking and inspiring us to have a monthly Saturday morning church group litter-picking and working with a Primary School Group. Details of our next litter pick are on the 'What's On ' page.

TRANENT COMMUNITY GARDEN – now established for 5 years and they are now looking for people to use the garden for events where we have some great ideas

ELCAN (East Lothian Climate Action Network) – has been set up to support communities to create a just, thriving, and resilient future

LIL (low impact living) HADDINGTON – made a request for Tranent folk to be involved in a ReUse Event in March 2023 in Tranent following a very successful Haddington Event
